Jager Bombs

Just an awesome time waiting to happen

Since this site is about energy drinks, there is obviously a Red Bull review posted which you can read and add your own commentary on. However, in light of the many spin-off drinks that have evolved from the popular Red Bull energy drink, I thought I’d let the public out there review some of the more known drinks that stem from Red Bull.

The first drink that comes to mind to me is obvious – the Jager Bomb!

This is probably the most popular college bar drink in the world, and if it’s not your “go-to” drink when you really want to get wasted FAST, then I’d love to hear what you do to take your drunkenness to another level. (Seriously, add a comment.)

The Jager Bomb, for those of you who don’t get out enough, goes like this….

A glass is filled with about half of a can of Red Bull energy drink (I prefer sugar free), and a shot of Jagrmeister is dropped in the glass, and it’s immediately slammed. I like to repeat this a few times over the course of the night to feel fantastic. (Disclaimer: I am not advising ANYONE to do this, as you can become very drunk. Of course, if you are under the legal drinking age, you are prohibited from drinking, period.)

However, for those of you who drink shots, you know the drill. I personally like the taste of Jager Bombs, as it is a good mix of a a fantastically different liqueur, and a quick jolt of energy all at the same time.

I also invite you to submit your best Jager Bomb story along with your personal review of Jager Bombs. If you have any good Jager Bomb videos, simply drop me a link to it and if it’s worthy of posting I’ll go ahead and add it to my video section.

RockStar Energy Drink

Rock Star Energy Drink

RockStar Energy Drink has caught on with people and has 14% of the market share, according to reports I read online about RockStar’s brand, created by Russell Weiner in 2001. With over 14 flavors, there is certainly no lack of creativity behind this brand of energy drinks. A great marketing campaign was made possible by essentially doubling the capacity of the Red Bull container, and mass marketing the drinks in their massive 16 oz. size. The company also sells “energy shots” like most other brands, such as 5 Hour Energy are doing. These small vials of “energy” are readily available and catching on with consumers.

Other than the obvious mix of caffeine and sugar, a variety of herbs: panax ginseng, ginkgo biloba, milk thistle extract, and guarana seed make up the ingredient mix in RockStar.

RockStar’s 14 flavors are as follows: original, sugar free, zero carb, juiced guava, juiced pomegranate, punched tropical, punched citrus acai berry, roasted mocha, roasted latte, and roasted vanilla light.

RockStar sponsors many race car drivers, and is heavily marketing their product these days.

I like RockStars low carb and sugar free energy drinks. My favorite is Roasted Vanilla light, which tastes similar to the StarBucks Iced drinks but without all of the carbs and sugar. Please leave your reviews and experiences for the RockStar Energy Drink brands below.

Nos Energy Drink

Nos Energy Drink

Nos Energy drink is a very neatly packaged product that is a play on the whole Nos “car racing” component. If you have seen the movie the Fast and the Furious, you know exactly what I am talking about. Nos is basically a supplement that goes into the fuel line (I think) of a car and makes it take off ferociously. I could be wrong and some gear head will certainly correct me if I am, but basically it makes a car go fast.

This energy drink is cool because it’s a play on that whole angle. The cap is a twist off cap that looks like a gas cap. Very cool! The energy drink is delicious, and among my favorites.

One of the best Nascar Drivers, Kyle Busch, recently took Nos on as a sponsor, and his #18 car has Nos energy drink all over it. Pretty exciting stuff that energy drinks are now involved in major sponsorships like Nascar racing!

Red Bull Energy Drink

Red Bull has the most market share in the world

Market research shows Red Bull as the world’s most popular energy drink. It was the first mass marketed energy drink, and it’s narrow cans and simple logo caught on at bars, college campuses, and gas stations almost immediately. Despite criticism for their bold, in-your-face marketing efforts and rumors of associated heart risks, Red Bull remains as the undisputed champion of energy drinks.

Red Bull ingredients include taurine, glucuronolactone, caffeine, B vitamins, sucrose, phenylalanine, and glucose.

A very popular energy drink you can find all around college campuses, Red Bull has been incorporated into many bar drinks such as the popular Vodka Red Bull as well as Jager Bombs. It’s also a substitute for coffee among the younger crowd, used as a quick pick-me-up in the morning before class or work responsibilities.

One can of Red Bull contains 80 mg/8.3 fl oz of caffeine. Most Red Bull drinkers are unaware of how much caffeine they actually consume, as the information can only be observed by reading the fine print.

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of Red Bull, but since it is widely available, I usually find myself drinking it when in need of energy. (I’m a “Sugar free” Red Bull drinker, however, and LOVE the taste of Sugar Free Red Bull and Tequila.)

Please leave your Red Bull reviews, comments, and drink recipes below. I’ll be updating this page with new Red Bull recipes as they are submitted.

ABB Energy Workout Drink

I recently started a workout program called the Insanity Workout, by a man named Shaun T.  It’s nothing short of insane, mind you, and I needed an extra boost to prepare for it.  When I looked for a fitness energy drink, I came across this delicious grape flavor made by American BodyBuilding, (ABB) that really [...]

Jones Soda

While last time I checked Jones Soda didn’t offer an energy drink, per say, they do offer a full line of soft drinks that are absolutely delicious.  I don’t want to cannibalize my idea of making the greatest website to review energy drinks on the planet by adding cola’s, juices, and other beverages, but Jones [...]

Sobe Adrenaline Rush

Sobe Adrenaline Rush

Sobe is a brand that is also becoming quite popular and expanding rapidly, so it’s appropriate I review their popular Adrenaline Rush energy drink.

Note: I Did hear that this energy drink has been discontinued – can any0ne confirm or deny that rumor?

Active Ingredients in each can…
Sobe is a ‘Maximum Energy Supplement’ that has 2000mg of taurine, 1000mg of d-ribose, as well as guarana, ginseng, and l-carnitine.

Sobe’s drinks are always a little too thick for my liking, which is probably why I like their flavors. They probably pack in so much taste that it makes for a thicker energy drink in the end. Sobe has many flavors of beverages, and most are delicious. Their famous gecko logo is a brand that I will never forget. Some people may not know, but they also make Sobe Life Water.

If you have any input on the Sobe Adrenaline Rush energy drink, please leave a Sobe Review for others to read.

Cocaine Energy Drink

I don’t really know too much about this Cocaine energy drink, other than the FDA banned it because of it’s claims and comparisons to the street drug bearing the same name. Obviously this was a long shot as far as a marketing angle, but it certainly got people’s attention!

Do you know anything about the Cocaine energy drink? Does it exist anymore? If anyone has an updated story, please leave it in the comment section until I have time to conduct proper research.

5 Hour Energy

five hour energy

5 Hour energy has been popularly endorsed by the likes of NFL football players. I personally enjoy 5 Hour Energy because liquid consumption makes me have to go to the bathroom frequently, and with 5 Hour Energy, I don’t have to worry about downing 16 or 32 ounces of a beverage to get pumped up.

5 Hour energy has worked for me on several occasions. I’m a big fan of this all-of-a-sudden available everywhere supplement. Seriously, it’s at gas stations, pharmacies, drug stores, Wal-Mart type stores, and more. It seemed that it went from being new to being “mainstream.”

It literally takes seconds to drink, and it stores very easily in your pocket. It’s quick-absorbing formula gets into your body in seconds, and it’s nothing clunky to carry with you like some of the leading energy drinks.

According to the 5 Hour Energy website, each container packs these ingredients:

Vitamins

Vitamin B6
Vitamin B12
Niacin (Vitamin B3)
Folic Acid (Vitamin B9)

Energy Blend

Citicoline
Tyrosine
Phenylalanine
Taurine
Malic Acid
Glucuronolactone
Caffeine

Safety

Phenylketonurics
Large amounts of vitamins
Niacin flush

Do you use five hour energy? If so, I’d like to hear from y0u about your experiences with this popular energy supplement.
